Pathwords Extended Text

You won’t believe what happened at the language school today! I was trying to pick up some new vocabulary when this funny guy used the worst pick up line on me. He said, ‘Are you a dictionary? Because you’ve added meaning to my life!’ Can you imagine?

Anyway, the real exciting news is that I’m learning to drive. My uncle promised to teach me in his pick up truck this weekend. He says I pick things up quickly, which makes me happy. I need to get my license soon because the bus schedule is terrible.

Speaking of transportation, could you pick me up tomorrow for our study group? My car is still at the mechanic’s. They have to lift it up to fix something underneath. I’m not sure what exactly is wrong with it.

Oh, and don’t forget we have to pick some books up from Jenny’s house. She has donated them to the language school’s library.

You know what’s interesting? Since I started these English classes, I’ve noticed how many new words and phrases I pick up just from talking to people like you. It’s much better than only studying from textbooks!
