Pathwords Extended Text

Last spring, I had this amazing idea to create a garden at our school. At first, some teachers thought it wasn’t feasible because we had limited space and a tight budget. However, I knew it was doable if we planned carefully.

I started by looking at our available resources. We had an unused courtyard, and several local businesses were willing to donate supplies. After making a detailed plan, I showed the principal how this was a practical project that could teach students about science and sustainability.

The next step was to figure out what was realistic for our first year. While we wanted to grow everything, we had to be manageable in our approach. We decided to start with simple vegetables and herbs that were workable for beginners. Some ideas, like building a greenhouse, were unfeasible at that time, but we kept them in mind for the future.

To implement our plan, we formed teams of students and teachers. Each group had specific tasks to achieve, from preparing the soil to creating planting schedules. It was wonderful to see how everyone worked together to make this project happen.

Now, one year later, our garden is thriving. We learned that big dreams can become reality when you break them into smaller, practical steps. The students have learned so much, and we even provide fresh vegetables to our school cafeteria. What seemed impossible at first turned out to be completely feasible with good planning and teamwork.
